Provider of an array of services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
WEAVE provides crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the greater Sacramento region. The 24-hour Support and Information Line (916.920.2952) provides support, resources and referrals. The 24-hour Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) sends an advocate to every sexual assault victim undergoing an evidentiary examination at the hospital. WEAVE’s confidential Safehouse is a 12,000 square foot facility providing safe and confidential housing to women, men, and children. The Safehouse program offers emergency housing, case management, counseling, playcare, legal assistance, job readiness assistance, onsite charter school, parenting classes, and other resources and referrals. WEAVE recently completed construction of four Transitional Housing Cottages which have the capacity to house up to 16 women and children. The Transitional Housing allows women and their children to build upon the progress they made while staying at the Safehouse. The Legal Program assists more than 1,400 victims in accessing legal resources including dissolution, custody, and temporary restraining orders. Walk-in triage services include a lethality assessment, linkage to WEAVE programs, and referrals to other supportive services for 400 victims each year. WEAVE is the only local domestic violence and sexual assault program using a therapeutic counseling model for all clients. Licensed therapists and supervised interns provide services to adults and children. WEAVE is also involved in Prevention & Education efforts in the community with youth and adults.
